Borehole Preparation Kit
The borehole preparation kit allows you to manually auger a 2 1/2in diameter hole to your target depth using the supplied auger, extensions, and rubber-coated cross handle. After your desired depth has been achieved, remove the regular auger head from your extension(s), and thread on the planer auger. Lower the planer auger to the bottom of the borehole and twist the cross handle two full revolutions. The specialized cutting head of the planer auger will pick up any loose debris and will leave a level surface at the bottom of the borehole – allowing for more accurate geotechnical testing and sampling.
The kit includes a 2 1/4in regular auger, 2 1/4in planer auger, 4ft extension, 3ft extension, 18in rubber-coated handle, and poly-canvas carrying case. All of the
components have a 5/8in threaded connection type.
